Andy
making some pea sticks from a hazel pole
|
| A
perfest hazel stump for hedging. This was planted in 1998 or 99, and
after some thinning out is ideal for forming the base of the new hedge. |

|
| Finishing
the first section of hedge. The alder tree in the centre of the hedge
has been retained to give it some height while the layed sections
shoot back up, and will be coppiced for fire wood in the next year
or two. Andy told me that he had coppiced alder as firewood successfully
for many years. |
